Auckland Atelier is a new studio school for the visual arts running in partnership with Takapuna Art Supplies. Our tutors are active, experienced professionals, headed by Jim Auckland, a graduate of the prestigious Art Center College of Design and a 43 year veteran in illustration and fine art. Auckland Atelier offers amateur and professional students the opportunity to learn in a supportive and cooperative environment where small class sizes ensure care for the individual and the opportunity for teachers to work alongside students. Established with the aim of filling a gap in the market of available education, Auckland Atelier seeks to provide a hands on, practical engagement with the fundamental principles of visual art. Developing a deep understanding of the craftsmanship and critical thinking central to traditional art practice enables students to confidently pursue their individual goals of artistic expression.
