Pinar Ekinci was born and grew up in Turkey. She studied Visual Communication and Design in Turkey and obtained her MFA in Illustration in San Francisco. She now lives in New Zealand and continues with her illustration work as a freelancer. Pinar has worked in mobile game, animation and children’s book as an artist. Her work can be found in Turkish Children book Series called ‘’Zaman Tursusu’’ by Haktan Kaan Icel which was published in Turkey. Additionally, she worked as a Concept Artist for a TV Animation series called ‘’Darwin and Newts’’ based in New Zealand. She is more interested in illustrating whimsical, dreamlike, fantasy and magical stories from Turkey’s culture, childhood memories, her experiences from life and nature. Other than drawing, it is important to her to nurture herself with variety of activities such as dancing, playing piano, reading variety of books, traveling and experiencing new cultures makes her illustrations more interesting and colorful.
